The colours for our Sixes are taken from the names of some of Mowgli's 'brother' wolves, in the "Jungle Book" by Rudyard  Kipling.

Now we now have a new uniform.  Our Sixes and Second wear this badge on their left pocket.

Sixes & Second Roles

The Sixes and Seconds  are the older Cubs who help the Leaders of the Pack, there to assist the Leaders with the smooth operating of the weekly program.

Some areas where Sixes and Seconds can help are shown here. These are just a guide and often based on what the Leaders need the Sixes and Seconds to help out with.

Ceremonies
- Investitures
- Going Up
- Grand Howl
- Flag Break

Pack Co-operation
- Set a good example for younger Cub Scouts to follow
- Be alert to Leaders' hand signals
- Motivating their Six to help clean up / pack up after activities

Helping New Chums feel welcome
- Introducing to rest of Six
- Explaining hand signals and team game formations and other Pack procedures. E.g. as Pack routine is to take off hats and scarves after Grand Howl, explain where to store them.

Weekly Pack Meetings
- Ensuring Six ready for Grand Howl and Inspection
- Responsible for collecting Bones at the end of the night
- Duty Six - organise for Flag to be rolled and Hall to be clean and tidy after the Pack Meeting

Six and Second Training Cub Scout Leadership

All Cubs that are a Six or a Second do a small course called Cub Scout Leadership ,this is run by a District Cub Scout Leader ,the reason being that if there are a few Cubs doing it from one Cub Pack and others from another Pack the need to do it, it can be run as a joint event by the District Cub Scout Leader he / she gives out the badge and certificates to the Cubs that participate .
