History of Kingston Sea Scout Group

The First Leaders

Information I have been given is the First Scout Leader ( Scout Master) was E Geeves 1946 Cub Scout did not start till latter for the information I have it was about 1963 this is quite a long time between Scout and Cub Scout the first Cub Scout Leader I have record of  is E Clifford 1963 form then on till now we have had both section Venturers did not start till 1983 this is the first record I have M Hughes Rovers followed in 1984 with B McIndoe Kingston has all ways had a strong Leadership in the sections

 

The First Hall

The First Scout hall I can find out about is the litter hall at Kingston Football ground the hall was small and not very warm in the winter months ,no storage you could use most of the craft items Cubs use was brought every week, by the Cub leaders two pack use the hall as well as the scouts ,but the Scout had a summer base the boat shed ,down by Browns River Kingston Beach

 

 

Boat Shed

The Boat Shed was once belong to surf life saving ,after they left we took it over it has been extended twice since them to the size it is now, it is the Summer location for our Scouts to do their Boating actives to run navigation and other sea Scout actives , to help them understand how to be a better Sea Scout and have understanding of the danger of Boating ,and the Fun as well ,this is what Scouting is about teaching the youth to be better at what every the try .

 

New Hall

The Opening of the new hall

The New hall is much larger and warmer than the old one ,with a lot of effort form the Group of parents who put so much ,time into this project to get the permission form Council and to get the paper work in on time ,it took team work and effort to build it it was opened in
